Centre for International Affairs

The Centre for International Affairs is an administrative unit of the AGH University of Krakow that carries out activities supporting the academic community in tasks related to international cooperation.

The main tasks of the Centre for International Affairs include:

  1.   Coordination, record-keeping, and administrative handling of cooperation agreements between AGH University and foreign universities, research institutions,
     and international organisations
  2.   Handling of selected scholarship and educational programs for employees, doctoral students, and students of AGH University, i.e. Erasmus +, Education Program,
      Smile,  Select+, T.I.M.E.
  3.   Administrative support for employees, doctoral students, and students abroad
  4.   Coordination and implementation of the agreement concerning the cooperation of AGH University with a travel agency in terms of selling tickets for foreign trips of employees, doctoral students and students of the University
  5.   Coordination and implementation of the insurance agreement for employees, doctoral students, students, and other individuals, for whom the AGH University is directly repsonsible, travelling abroad for business  purposes.
  6.   Registration and formal control of submitted applications for admission of international guests, preparation of payments to foreigners and their settlement
  7.   Support for the Senate Committee for International Affairs
  8.   Organisation of meetings between AGH University authorities and international delegations
  9.   Preparing current and periodic reporting on international cooperation
  10.   Acquiring, developing and disseminating information on opportunities for employees and students to apply for foreign scientific internships and scholarships   
  11.   Coordinating AGH University's participation in selected international networks e.g. T.I.M.E., MAGALHAES, EUA etc.
  12.   Coordinating AGH University's participation in Study in Krakow, Study in Polnad, Ready, Study, GO! Poland, and IRO's Forum.

Organizational structure

The activities of the International Contracts and Projects Office include in particular:

a) coordination and administrative service of cooperation agreements and contracts aimed at joint education between AGH University and foreign universities, research institutions and international organizations,
b) recommending actions to optimise the signing and implementation of AGH University agreements with foreign universities, research institutes and international organisations,
c) supporting AGH University Cooperation Coordinators in establishing and implementing cooperation with foreign higher education institutions,
d) participation in foreign missions and educational fairs in terms of establishing academic cooperation,
e) preparation of selected applications aimed at activities supporting the process of internationalization of the University,
f) implementation and financial settlement of projects coordinatedby the Centre,
g) handling financial matters related to cooperation with foreign countries,
h) initiating and implementing procedures for contracts regarding the implementation of the Centre's tasks,
i)  administrative support for the Rectoral Commission for Cooperation and Development,
j) keeping records of external and internal legal acts pertaining to matters handled by the Centre and monitoring and controlling their observance by University units,
k) archiving documentation related to the tasks performed by the Section,
l)  preparing current and periodic reporting on the Office's activities.

The activities of the International Relations Office include in particular:

a) promotion of the University in the field of international cooperation, including participation in foreign missions and educational fairs,
b) cooperation with AGH University Cooperation Coordinators regarding implementation of the University's international strategy and cooperation with foreign higher education institutions,
c) coordinating AGH University's participation in selected national and international networks and organizations,
d) coordinating the University's cooperation with foreign alumni, including the preparation and implementation of projects concerning AGH University alumni in the context of promotion and international cooperation of AGH University,
e) providing administrative support to international guests visiting AGH University,
f) registration and formal control of submitted applications for admission of international guests, preparation of payments to foreigners and their settlement,
g) administrative support for summer and winter school participants at AGH University,
h) publication of Centre for International Affairs newsletter in English,
i) supporting the organization of meetings of AGH University authorities with international delegations,
j) archiving documentation related to the tasks carried out by the Office,
k) preparing current and periodical reporting on the Office's activities.

The activities of the International Mobility Office include in particular:

a) administrative service for staff, doctoral students, and students abroad (cooperation with faculty administration and the Bursar's Office, formal control of submitted applications in terms of Faculty, bank, and university regulations, formal and financial settlement of mobilities, keeping a database of mobilities and their settlements, acting as an intermediary in applying for visas),
b) coordination and implementation of an agreement concerning cooperation between AGH University and a travel agency with regarding the sale of airline tickets for international mobilities of employees, doctoral students, and students of the University,
c) Coordination and implementation of the insurance agreement for employees, Phd Candidates, students and other individuals for whom the AGH University is directly repsonsible, travelling abroad for business purposes,
d) handling and managing selected scholarship and educational programmes dedicated to AGH University employees, doctoral students, and students, including conducting individual consultations with employees, doctoral students, and students intending to participate in international programmes,
e) supervising the signing of trilateral agreements and cooperation with faculties in this respect,
f) acquiring, developing and disseminating information about the opportunities for employees, doctoral students and students to apply for international scientific internships, scholarships, and international educational programmes,
g) publishing a monthly newsletter in Polish,
h) maintenance of the Centre for International Affairs website and social media in Polish and English,
i) current and periodical reporting on international mobilities,
j) archiving documentation related to the tasks carried out by the Office,
k) current and periodical reporting on the Unit's activities.

The activities of the Centre for International Affairs Office include, in particular:

a) administrative support of Centre for International Affairs activities,

b) handling of Centre for International Affairs financial documents,

c) preparation of current and periodic reporting on Centre for International Affairs activities,

d) inventory of assets of the Centre for International Affairs,

e) coordination of matters related to occupational risk assessment and preventive examinations of Centre for International Affairs employees,

f) coordination of matters related to security and protection of personal data in Centre for International Affairs.
