On 22 December 2020, by decision of the European Commission, the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków once again obtained the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) under the so-called simplified procedure in the ECHE 2020 application competition.
ECHE defines the general framework for the quality of activities that a higher education institution may carry out under the Erasmus+ programme in the 2021-2027 financial perspective.
The ECHE card is a requirement for all higher education institutions from countries participating in the programme that wish to participate in projects implemented under the programme in the following areas:
1) Educational mobility – Action 1
2) Cooperation for innovation and exchange of good practices (cooperation projects) – Action 2
3) Support for the development of policies and cooperation – Action 3 New elements in the programme include taking action to ensure the use and promotion of digital mobility management tools, wider use of blended mobility, promoting environmentally friendly practices in all activities related to the programme and using former participants, students and staff (local ambassadors) to promote participation in the programme.
As part of the ECHE, the University undertakes, among other things, to ensure full and equal access for all participants, including those from disadvantaged backgrounds, to have a procedure for awarding ECTS points, to implement the provisions of the European Student Card Initiative, to promote the Erasmus+ mobile application among students, to implement and promote environmentally friendly practices within the Erasmus+ programme, to promote civic attitudes among programme participants, to fully respect the principles of non-discrimination, to fully pass all positively assessed courses attended by a student during the period of study abroad and not to charge incoming students any tuition fees, registration fees, exam fees, laboratory or library use fees.
As part of the ECHE, the University also undertakes to recognise teaching and training activities undertaken by employees during the mobility period in accordance with the previously concluded agreement.
