NAWA - Euraxess Network

The NAWA-EURAXESS Network program is an initiative of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange, launched in November 2024. The program's goal is to create regional networks in individual voivodeships between various research and higher education institutions and other organizations serving foreigners. The project's implementation represents another step toward internationalizing the region and actively supporting research mobility.

On May 9, 2025, AGH University of Krakow became the beneficiary of another project funded by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) under the NAWA–EURAXESS Network program.

The project, coordinated by AGH University of Krakow, is implemented in cooperation with leading scientific institutions in the Małopolska region: the Jagiellonian University, the Cracow University of Technology, the University of Agriculture in Krakow, and the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

The project aims to create a friendly, inclusive, and inspiring environment for international doctoral students, researchers, and their families who choose to pursue scientific careers in Małopolska. This initiative represents an excellent example of effective inter-university collaboration, strengthening the region’s position on the international scientific map and supporting the integration of foreign researchers into the local academic community.

The project includes a wide range of activities dedicated to international researchers, doctoral students, and their families, including:

• development of a project website,
• production of a series of short informational and promotional videos,
• preparation and printing of a promotional and informational brochure serving as a practical guide for foreign researchers, containing administrative and legal information, everyday-life guidance, and updates from the scientific community in Małopolska,
• organization of training sessions for AGH University staff and project partners in communication skills, global profiling, international visibility, and effective talent attraction,
• organization of induction and integration events for international guests of AGH University and partner institutions and their families,
• organization of a concluding conference summarizing the project, with the participation of partners from the initiative “Global Academic Mobility and Research Careers in a Changing World.”

The Programme is financed with European funds from the European Funds for Social Development 2021–2027 (FERS) under the NAWA Project “Support for higher education and research institutions in supporting foreign nationals and Polish citizens going abroad,” project number FERS.01.05-IP.08-0003/24.
