SIT Shibaura Institute of Technology

Mobility offer for AGH University doctoral students in accordance with AGH's agreement with the Shibaura Institute of Technlogy (SIT).

Coordinator of the agreement: Prof. Janusz Szmyd, Rector's Representative for cooperation with Japan - Faculty of Energy and Fuels.

According to the agreement:

• AGH doctoral student(s) receive a stipend for the duration of their stay in Japan,
• SIT provides 20 hours of Japanese language course,
• SIT helps to find accommodation,
•  In a given academic year (period of stay from January to December), one PhD student for a whole year or two PhD students for a maximum of 6 months may go to SIT.

SIT Introduction

RECRUITMENT:
In order to recruit under the SIT Sandwich programme, students should submit the following documents to the AGH Rector's Coordinator for Cooperation with Japan, Prof. Dr. Eng. Janusz Szmyd:

• English language proficiency certificate (at least B-2 level issued in English; SIT requires TOEFL iBT certificate min 80 points or equivalent),
• written consent/letter of recommendation from the Dean of the home faculty containing an opinion on the student's course of studies, grade point average (calculated according to the GPA method) from the entire period of studies and information on the student's additional achievements: trips, participation in study clubs, student organisations,
• transcript of marks from the Dean's Office for the whole period of studies (in English),
• letter of motivation (in English),
• in addition, confirmation of participation in Olympiads, voluntary work or academic events may be attached.

    The deadline for submission of documents for the semester starting in April is 15 October
    Deadline for submission of documents for the semester beginning in August. expires on 15 March
