CEEPUS - the Central European Exchange Program for University Studies is Europe's second largest multilateral academic cooperation programme (after Erasmus+), which has been covering mobility grants for students and research and teaching staff from Central and Eastern European countries for more than 30 years. The CEEPUS programme was established in 1993. Currently, the signatories of the Agreement are: Albania, Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Montenegro, Czech Republic, Macedonia, Moldova, Romania, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia, Hungary, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo - University of Pristina.
The primary objective of the CEEPUS Agreement is to support academic exchange of students and academics and intensify contacts between the universities of the signatory countries.
Ultimately, the implementation of the CEEPUS IV Agreement signed in 2023 until 2032 will be an important element of cooperation between the Central and Southern European countries, positively influencing the improvement of the level and quality of education and research through academic exchanges and the development of young researchers.
The CEEPUS programme offers:
• short-term scholarships in the framework of academic internships within the Academic Networks,
• short-term scholarships in the framework of ‘Freemover’ research internships,
• short-term scholarships in the framework of summer schools and intensive courses.
CEEPUS scholarships abroad can be applied for by:
- students,
- doctoral students,
- academics.
