Strategic Partnerships

AGH University of Krakow has received PLN 2,192,773.69 from the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) to implement the project: “Enhancing International Academic Cooperation: Strategic Partnership between AGH University and Leading Scientific Institutions in Vietnam.”

The NAWA ‘Strategic Partnerships’ programme supports Polish universities in building lasting relationships with foreign partners, enabling the development of educational, scientific, organisational and implementation cooperation.

The project will be implemented by AGH University in cooperation with four leading technical universities in Vietnam:

The project is coordinated by the AGH University Centre for International Affairs, engaging four university faculties: the Faculty of Geology, Geophysics and Environmental Protection, the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Resource Management, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Robotics (WIMiR), and the Faculty of Drilling, Oil and Gas.

The partnership involves four courses, resulting in obtaining microcredentials for students from Vietnam, related to:

  • innovative techniques for monitoring the water and soil environment,
  • environmental engineering,
  • energy efficiency and sustainable construction,
  • control and virtual prototyping in the design of mechatronic systems and modern trenchless technologies.

Furthermore, three international research groups will be established to work on issues related to waste management and recycling, water and soil monitoring, and data-based methods for diagnosing the condition of complex structures.

The project also offers research internships for young scientists and doctoral students from AGH University at partner institutions in Vietnam, the drafting of a double degree programme, and the organisation of a seminar and final international conference summarising the results of the cooperation.

This initiative is part of AGH University's strategic actions aimed at strengthening internationalisation and developing genuine, long-term partnerships with foreign universities. Thanks to NAWA's support, the project will contribute both to improving the quality of education and research and to strengthening AGH University's position in the world.
