Strategic Partnerships

The Strategic Partnerships Programme, initiated by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA), supports Polish universities and research institutions in establishing and strengthening long-term international cooperation. The programme aims to build sustainable and strategic partnerships with institutions from around the world, fostering collaboration in the fields of education, research, administration, and knowledge transfer.

Through the projects implemented within the programme, Polish institutions enhance their capacity for internationalisation, introduce innovative approaches to higher education, and exchange knowledge and best practices with global partners. The programme also supports the development of strong international networks, contributing to the growing visibility and recognition of Polish universities worldwide.

This initiative is part of AGH University's strategic actions aimed at strengthening internationalisation and developing genuine, long-term partnerships with foreign universities. Thanks to NAWA's support, the project will contribute both to improving the quality of education and research and to strengthening AGH University's position in the world.

PROJECT ACTIVITIES

Microcredential courses

As part of the partnership, four specialized courses will be developed and delivered for students from the Vietnamese partner universities and the AGH University of Krakow (AGH). Participants who successfully complete the courses will receive micro-credentials certifying the acquisition of new competencies. The courses will cover the following topics:

  • Innovative Techniques for Monitoring Water-Soil Environment,
  • Engineering for Environmental, Energy-Efficient and Sustainable Construction,
  • Control and Virtual Prototyping in Design of Mechatronic Systems
  • Modern Trenchless Technologies

International Research Groups

The project will establish three international research groups aimed at strengthening scientific cooperation among the partner institutions and conducting joint research on waste management and recycling, water and soil monitoring, and data-based methods for diagnosing the condition of complex structures.

Research Internships for Young Researchers and PhD students from AGH in Vietnam

The project includes one-month research internships for young researchers and PhD students from AGH at partner research institutions in Vietnam.

Double Degree Programme between AGH and HUMG

One of the project's key activities will be the development of a double degree programme between AGH University of Krakow and Hanoi University of Mining and Geology (HUMG). The programme will enable students to obtain degrees from both institutions while enhancing the attractiveness of the joint educational offer.

Scientific Seminar at HUST

In July 2026, a scientific seminar will be held at Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST). The seminar will provide an opportunity to review the project's progress, present the results achieved by the international research groups, and facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience among the academic partners.

POL–VIET International Conference

The project will conclude with the organization of the 9th edition of the POL–VIET International Conference at AGH in 2027. The conference will provide a platform for presenting the project's achievements, disseminating research results, and further strengthening scientific and educational cooperation between Poland and Vietnam.
