A scientific seminar was held in Hanoi on 20–21 July 2026, hosted by the Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST).
The seminar brought together representatives of AGH University and leading technical universities from Vietnam:
Hanoi University of Mining and Geology (HUMG)
Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST)
Da Nang University of Science and Technology (DUT)
Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT)
The event was also attended by AGH doctoral students undertaking one-month research internships at Hanoi University of Mining and Geology (HUMG) and Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST).
The aim of the seminarwas to summarise the results of research conducted to date by three international research groups established within the project.
Thanks to the online streaming, the seminar sessions were also accessible to academic staff, PhD candidates, students, and all interested participants who were unable to attend the event in person in Hanoi.
The seminar in Hanoi represented an important milestone in the implementation of the project. It provided a valuable platform for presenting research results, exchanging knowledge and experience, and strengthening cooperation between AGH University and Vietnam's leading technical universities.
The first part of the day included presentations of the partner universities and introductions to the activities of individual research groups. The second part of the programme consisted of scientific sessions during which the research results achieved by Research Groups No. 1 and No. 2 were presented.
Research group no. 1
Theme: Waste Management and Recycling in Sustainable Construction
The scientific session included the following presentations::
Research group no. 2
Theme: Monitoring of the Water–Soil Environment in Areas with Mineral, Therapeutic, and Geothermal Waters in Vietnam
The scientific session included the following presentations:
The second day of the seminar began with a session dedicated to the presentation of research results achieved by Research Group No. 3.
Research Group No. 3
Theme: Data-Driven Methods for Structural Health Monitoring and Monitoring of Complex Structural Systems
The following presentations were delivered during the session:
„A Full-Lifecycle RUL Prediction Method for Rolling Bearing Based on Two-Phase Degradation Model” – dr Dinh Duc Hanh (DUT),
„A Conditional Adaptive Multiscale Deep Learning Framework for Wind Turbine Power Forecasting Enhanced by Wavelet Assisted Feature Decomposition and Complexity Driven Analysis” – assoc. prof. Duy Anh Nguyen (HCMUT),
„AI-Enabled Condition Monitoring for Wind Turbines: Methods, Challenges, and Future Directions” – assoc. prof. Mac Thi Thoa (HUST).
The next part of the programme consisted of individual meetings of the international research groups. Participants reviewed the outcomes of their collaboration to date, discussed the progress of ongoing research, and outlined the next stages of their joint research projects.
At the same time, representatives of the Centres for International Affairs of AGH and HUST met to discuss opportunities for further expanding inter-university cooperation.
The programme also included a meeting with HUST students, during which AGH presented its educational offer and the opportunities available through academic exchange programmes.
The second day of the seminar concluded with a summary of the project's activities and achievements to date. Participants reviewed the progress made so far, discussed priorities for future cooperation, and outlined the next steps to be undertaken within the Strategic Partnership project.
