Third edition: International Alumni

AGH Global Alumni – a comprehensive model of cooperation and relationship building between AGH University of Science and Technology and international graduates

The new edition of the project expands previous activities to include another highly important stakeholder group – AGH international alumni. The project responds to current trends in higher education management, which emphasize long-term relationships with alumni as a key element of a university’s international strategy. As a result, AGH University gains the opportunity to build a global network of ambassadors promoting the university and Polish higher education internationally.

The aim of the project is to internationalize and increase the competitiveness of Polish universities by developing their capacity to recruit and support international individuals. The initiative focuses on extending existing university activities by building lasting, systemic relationships with international alumni, which constitutes an important complement to earlier projects aimed at international students, doctoral candidates, and staff. The project aligns with AGH’s strategic development directions, strengthening its position as an open, globally engaged university that supports the idea of a borderless academic community. AGH’s development strategy defines the university as a dynamically developing “university of the future,” based on over a century of tradition in addressing scientific challenges, creating innovative technological and technical solutions for the economy, and fulfilling tasks resulting from the needs of the state, local communities, and business partners. A key role in building this vision is played by the university’s graduates – including international ones – who, thanks to the knowledge and experience gained, become leaders in the development of the economy and society in Poland and around the world.

The project, implemented by AGH University as one of 34 universities, is funded by the European Union under the European Social Fund for Development 2021–2027 (FERS), within the project titled: “Support for higher education and research institutions in serving foreign nationals and Polish citizens going abroad,” project no. FERS.01.05.IP.08-0003/24.
