*Exchange rates from EUR to PLN are based on the NBP rate on the date of the event.

Insurance covers employees, students, scholarship holders, PhD students, members of artistic teams, members of amateur sports teams, and others under AGH's responsibility during travel.

The insurance is valid worldwide, excluding Poland and the insured person's country of residence. The insurance also does not cover any events that occurred in Iran, in the regions of Kyiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Kharkiv, and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Abkhazia, and South Ossetia, as well as areas under sanctions or armed conflict (including: Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine).

The general principles are defined in the GENERAL AGREEMENT Kc-zp.272-441/23

General terms and conditions of COMPENSA VOYAGE insurance

Immediate assistance in the event of an accident (sudden illness)

If, during your stay abroad, you are forced to seek medical assistance or undergo hospitalization due to a sudden illness or an accident, you should first contact the Emergency Centre - open 24 hours a day - at: + 48 22 295 82 01 and provide the coordinator with:

  •     your full name,
  •     your insurance policy number,
  •     contact number
  •     description of what has occurred.

The assistance service is provided in Polish.

The centre operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.

The emergency telephone number and insurance policy number can be found on the Compensa Voyage card, which can be downloaded from the AGH CSM website based on an approved trip application.

How does Assistance work?

The coordinators at the Assistance Emergency Centre will receive a report of an incident and, based on the information provided, organise assistance in your location.  At the same time, they provide instructions or information on further action, depending on the type of incident.

Assistance services may include:

  • locating the nearest medical facility,
  • arranging transport,
  • making payments to medical facilities, transport companies, hotels, and other service providers,
  • coordinating treatment communication,
  • contacting the injured person's family and providing information,
  • providing tailored assistance based on the situation.

Duties of the Insured in case of an incident:

  • notify Compensa Emergency Centre of the incident within 3 days,
  • provide necessary personal information (full name, PESEL), and incident details (description of the event and type of assistance needed), as well as any additional information requested by the operator of the Compensa Emergency Centre,
  • if needed, submit original documentation of an incident and incurred costs,
  • follow medical advice,
  • share medical documentation and cooperate with COMPENSA and Compensa Emergency Centre, providing necessary information and powers of attorney,
  • doctors, medical facilities, and the Social Insurance Institution should be exempted (to the extent necessary) from the obligation to maintain secrecy. This is to determine the insured's right to the benefit. You must also agree to provide COMPENSA with the necessary documentation of the course of treatment. 
  • at COMPENSA's request, undergo medical examinations or diagnostic tests with minimal risk, excluding genetic tests, in order to assess the insurance risk, determine the degree of permanent damage to health, establish the right to a benefit, and the amount of this benefit;

Duties of the Insured in case of baggage loss or theft:

  • take necessary measures to prevent or minimize damage,
  • notify local police within 3 days and obtain written confirmation,
  • if the incident occurred during a journey by any means of organised transport or at the place of accommodation, report it to the carrier or the accommodation administration and obtain a written confirmation,
  • notify COMPENSA within 7 days of return to Poland and provide a list of stolen or destroyed items, calculating their value. Provide COMPENSA with confirmations mentioned above.
  • in the case of damage to electronics or sports equipment, provide original purchase receipts.

Events not covered by insurance include:

  • complications after 32nd week of pregnancy,
  • childbirth after the 32nd week of pregnancy,
  • termination of pregnancy, unless the procedure was carried out to save life or health,
  • mental disorders,
  • plastic and cosmetic surgeries,
  • repair or purchase of prostheses and protective equipment,
  • baggage theft without signs of forced entry or not involving assult.
